Fashion Show MK

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending #fashionshowmk hosted by GM Media Events . Set in the beautiful grounds of Chicheley Hall this was the fourth fashion show MK and it was great fun!

Miss Milton Keynes Nicola was our compère for the evening and did a brilliant job offering insight into the designers and their collections which meant we could really get an understanding of the themes and inspirations behind each of the designs.

Olivia Buckland of ITV’s Love Island was modelling and is even more stunning in person than on the TV or in magazines. She is clearly an experienced model as she very professional and she kept the mood and energy  very high. She and the other models helped the designers by rocking whatever outfits they wore!

I loved  the sports wear from Fitlete obviously I have no intention of going to the gym anytime soon but it was a pretty range of gym wear.

London based designer Cameron Charles  showed a selection of nice tailored jackets which had fine stitching details that were amazingly done and looked very high end on the catwalk !

Danish brand Noa Noa who have a store in Olney,     provided a range of ladylike, pretty and timeless classics which was a stark contrast to the uber racy vinyl pieces that closed the show with a real edgy and sexy style!

My standout favourite collection was from Scarlett London, a bloggers and events orgainser who has recently returned from the USA where her collaboration collection with Jody Bell debuted at New York Fashion week!!  The spring/summer 2018 ranges are pretty, pastels and feminine pieces that would suit a wide range of shapes and sizes. If you’d like to check out the collection for yourself there’s a great Instagram page that features the full collection Scarlett London by JB  The complex detailing demostrated how much thought, time and effort had been into bringing the collection to life and I was so happy to see it right in front of me on the catwalk. I’ve met Scarlett several times and despite her range of achievements she is the nicest, sweetest person and she is so humble. She sat in the crowd with everyone else and had to be pushed up at the end for press photos with Olivia Buckland in one of her pieces. I will be writing a piece on Scarlett and her collaboration later this month.

There was a wide range of styles within the collections and I really felt there was something for everyone’s taste being showpieces. We were then allowed to get a closer look at and buy pieces in a pop up shop after the catwalk show. Cue a huge sigh from my bank balance and a migraine to suddenly kick in for my poor partner whose wardrobe area I’m gradually edging toward on a weekly basis!

I can hear him ‘argh more clothes, if she’s not buying clothes then it’s shoes and handbags plus those bits of makeup she sneaks in thinking I don’t see it like she hasn’t already got a thousand bits of makeup at home’  Lol he just doesn’t get it bless him!!

#FashionShowMK was a great night and I’m excited to attend the next one and see how things continue to grow for GM Media Events  because they deserve every success!
